Christmas and the Canal du Midi

Just a quick one from me tonight as we came back from a lovely week away in Dorset to a weekend full of DIY and map drawing for me, work for Sam.

I have finished outlining the map of the Canal du Midi now, ready to start painting over the next couple of days.

This is just one small section, the whole map is 10 A4 panels long, to be shrunk down to A5 panels for printing in Le Boat’s Canal du Midi guide.

I managed to squeeze in an hour or so to paint a couple more watercolours to put on my Christmas cards. Here are the latest designs…

If I can get my rear end in gear, I may scan them so that I can sell copies next year.

Anyway, that’s all for today! There may not be a blog next week as I’m off on a work trip on the Monday so I’ll be busy packing!

I’m sharing this post on the following blogs: Paint Party FridayHandmade Harbour and Blue Chair Diary Illustrations!

  1. I love the Christmas cards. Lucky recipients. I keep getting messages from Le Boat after I asked for the brochure with your Thames map. Seriously considering a boating holiday.

  2. Gorgeous Christmassy pics, i especially love the mince pie plate one with a bite out the carrot 🙂 Well done for finishing the outlining for the map, that must have been quite a task! I look forward to seeing it painted x

  3. Your work is absolutely wonderful, Claire! LOVE LOVE LOVE the snow angel with the doggie. Hits home in so many special ways. Hope you had a lovely time away in Dorset! xx
