This week has been yet another hectic one! In fact, the whole summer seems to have whizzed past in a blur of weddings, family visits and friends staying! On Wednesday we went to Sam’s cousin’s wedding at the beautiful Gaynes Park in Epping, London. It was a stunning location for a wonderful day and we ate, talked and danced the night away.
The weekend has been no less busy as we’ve been back to South Devon for lunch at my mum’s for my Grandad’s 80th birthday celebrations. I also spent the day on Saturday with my mum working on some bits and pieces for my sister’s hen party. I can’t post any photos yet, just in case she’s reading, but I’ll make sure I share them afterwards.
In between all that, I spend an evening sketching out a new page for my adult colouring book which has sadly taken a back seat recently with everything else going on.
This is going to be a seaside village scene, leading up to a fairytale castle at the top.
52 Faces
This week I’ve drawn my favourite singer, Enrique Iglesias. It is a little embarrassing to admit this but I’m sure there are many closet fans out there who enjoy his music too!
Iβm sharing this post on the following blogs:Β Handmade HarbourΒ andΒ Blue Chair Diary Illustrations!

Love the adult colouring book you are making – I have been given one recently!
your picture is coming along great and the mini portrait is excellent. wish I could draw like that!
I reckon a bit of practice and everyone can draw! A little every day π
I love seeing the development of your designs.
Thanks Ginny π
Sounds like you’ve been busy in a good way! Fantastic drawing as always, you’ve definitely captured Enrique π x
Thank you π
Oh dear I remember his Father, lol. The drawing is very good. Love to see what you have done during the week
Hehe! Thanks Caroline π
Sounds like a fun summer, squeezing some creativity in. Like the sketch for the adult colouring book.
It’s been hectic! Thanks Vicky π
Oh wow, your colouring page is fantastic…. I can see the winding road up to the fairy castle! This looks like way fun! Your little face sketch is amazing…. so much likeness!
Thank you π
Oh how amazing your faces are and the coloring book art looks so incredible! It’s going to be incredible!!
Thanks Lisa!!
You sound like you’ve been having a summer like me Clare, but maybe your weather’s been better than mine here in Bonnie Scotland. I’m still waiting for the warm weather but I think I might have to wait until next year now.
Great to see your beautiful sketches…. you’re obviously extremely talented.
I’ve been toying with the idea of creating a colouring book myself…. for over a year but feel I’ve missed the boat now. I’ll look forward to seeing your work progress.
Have a great creative week ahead and thanks for sharing your work ;D
I’m not sure it’s been a lot better Neesie! It really doesn’t feel like August! I think you should go ahead with the colouring book, it seems so popular now that people are going to need more and more to keep them going! Thank you for stopping by π
I’ve loved watching the behind the scenes work on your colouring book. Enrique looks fabulous!
Thanks Louise! If I didn’t share the behind the scenes work I don’t think there would be much to write about!
It seems like EVERYBODY is turning 80 this year! – Mom’s was a week ago! – In the middle of a heatwave. Family coming in from all over. “DRAMA” splattered all about…
Good Times!
;-D
Good to see that you managed to get some fabulous sketching in!
Ahh hope the celebrations were fun despite the drama! π
Don;t be embarrassed, being an Enrique fan is not unacceptable at all! Another fab mini portrait, I’d like to say they get better and better but really they are all as good as each other!
Hehe, thanks Julie!
very good likeness of Enrique π the seaside village looks like a lot of work π
Thanks Jennifer! It’s a lot of work, but I do love details!!
It sounds like you’ve been really busy. I can’t wait for your colouring book to be finished.
I can’t wait either, It will be such a relief!
You’ve certainly had your hands full! Oh, how I miss London. Hubby does as well being his family are there. We’re hoping to make a trip there for about a month this coming Autumn. His mum isn’t doing terribly well. Loving how your adult coloring book is coming along. Hopefully things will settle down a bit soon. Like you, I can’t believe the summer has flown by! π
I hope you do get the opportunity to come to London and I hope your husband’s mum improves. It is a lovely city, although I don’t think I could ever live there – it’s too busy for a country bumpkin like me! Thanks for popping by π
