Hello from our new house! I’m back after a two week break from my blog with a little less energy but a little more space! We’re settling into our new bungalow by the sea and enjoying every minute of being here.

The last thing to move from our rented house was our pet fish who are now also settling into their swanky new tank!

In between unpacking boxes, working, going to a wedding in London and visiting my parents I haven’t really had a lot of time for art. I’ve made a start on my map of the Canal du Midi but it’s in the very early stages at the moment so there’s not much to show.

I did do a bit more to this drawing for my colouring book which is still making very slow progress! Hopefully I’ll have more time over the next few weeks to get a few more pages done.

52 Faces

Last week, due to lack of internet, I searched through my phone for a portrait to draw and settled on this one of my boyfriend Sam.

This weekend I wanted a quick and easy subject to draw and, as characterful faces are the most simple, I chose to do a miniature Billy Connolly portrait!

I’m sharing this post on the following blogs: Handmade Harbour and Blue Chair Diary Illustrations!

Congrats on the move, I’m glad it went well. The unpacking can take WAY longer than the packing, there always seems to be a box or two that ends up at the back of the wardrobe for 6 months + !
Billy is great – such a good likeness. The one of your fella, I have no idea if that’s a good likeness or not but judging form your normal work I’m guessing spot on!

Thanks Julie! I know, I’ve still got a few boxes left to unpack and have lost my motivation now! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Congratulations on your move…. it is very exciting to have a new home… I hope you’ll have lots of adventures.
Your sketches are wonderful, you are really talented!

Absolutely love your faces. They are fantastic. I love drawing and painting people and your two here just inspire me. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful talent.

Good luck in your new home. We have been here now 25.5 years and would dread to have to move out as so much ‘stuff’ to go through. Love the pictures and the colouring will give you a rest.

YaY !!! Congrats on your move – I hope you will be very happy there 🙂
Fabulous drawings and I can’t wait to see the colouring book. Will you be selling copies ???

I love your colouring book… how relaxing.. .I really must get one!
Your face sketches are amazing… so real-like – very talented indeed

It was quite difficult to find the time, but I managed to squeeze it in somehow! Things are a bit more back on track now 🙂
